Tears From Heaven

Srisasanti Gallery, Indonesia

Held at Srisasanti Gallery's Tirtodipuran Link Building B, "Tears from Heaven" features two installations and 11 new charcoal artworks by Pramuhendra. Among the highlights is his largest work to date titled "In the Quiet Night at the Grand Theater", a charcoal drawing spanning an impressive 18 meters in length.

Pramuhendra dedicates this exhibition to discuss contemporary issues around women; intertwined with various Catholic symbols such as the crown of thorns, which are present through their figures who are the main subjects in this series of works.

The "Tears from Heaven" installation, a Pieta sculpture beneath an artificial rain of "tears" adds depth to the exhibition's reflective narrative. Visitors are invited to contemplate the sorrow and sacrifices of the Virgin Mary as she holds Jesus. Beyond its profound themes, the installation offers a sense of tranquility and calm, allowing the audience to experience both introspection and peace.
